How to make her Interior friendly and warm?

By good lighting. A beautiful lamp or a Wall can offer a whole new dimension to your parts. With many models at your disposal, all the lighting possibilities are available to you: Chandelier From the living room to the bar suspension or the ceiling lights in the rooms, you're spoilt for choice. You can harmonize everything and play on colors, shapes and design.

Home sweet home lights! What could be better than a home that looks like us?

In a large space, the intensity of light and colours play an essential role in feeling good about it. Here you'll find tips and tips that will help you create your own atmosphere.

1/ And the light was!

Long before Light fixtures and light bulbs are emerging, British physicists and chemists have been interested in meadows with light energy released by heat sources.

The origin of light: it was in 18 8 that a certain Humphrey Davy, a British physicist and chemist discovered that the flow placed between two electric sticks kept at equal distance caused an electric arc and created a spark.
After much research, the physicist demonstrates that light can be controlled with a metal canvas. This has been called the Davy lamp or safety lamp in the form of a voltaic electric battery.

Its discovery was taken up and developed in 1835 by James Bowman Limsay, a Scottish electrician: he is the originator of the first modern incandescent bulb as we know it today. A little later, James Bowman Lindsay abandons his research. It will have gone no further than to create a light allowing it a pleasant reading. It was not until 186 that Joseph Swan patented the idea that it was possible to maintain light if the vacuum was emptied in the container. It is from this discovery that the bulb appears.

And The Bulb Then?
It was a few years later, in 1879, that the classic incandescent lamp better known as the light bulb was marketed by Thomas Edison. A glass bubble in which a charred cotton fiber keeps the energy between the two poles.
It was at the beginning of the 2nd century that the first improvements led to the emergence of an increasingly reliable light bulb. Indeed, thanks to the discovery of the metal tungsten filament in 19 4, it replaces the more dangerous cotton filaments. It is more reliable and of better quality because it resists more heat.
The Halogen lamp

The halogen lamp appeared in 1854. It is based on the same operating principle, with the only difference in the treatment of the filament. This is placed in a mixture containing halogen gas.

The Led (light-emitting diode, or light-emitting diode)

Nowadays, the most appreciated is the Led bulb because it is economical and respectful of nature. It is a light where the current is self-sufficient. It is due to the inventor Nick Holonyak who developed the process in 1962. He was already saying that it would eventually replace Edison's incandescent bulb! Shuji Nakamura (professor at the University of Santa Barbara) is the one who developed the Led blue and then white light. He continued the research of Nick Holonyak, convinced that we could go even further and improve the product we already knew. We owe it ultraviolet and blue lights better known as blue-ray technology. LED is now used in all areas: public lighting, advanced technologies, telephony, cars, printers, etc. Characterized by its low consumption, it has made it possible to give access to the general public to a cheaper and more efficient technology.

What evolutions still have in store for us by the "lights" of this world?

The credit of the light bulb can only be attributed to one person: it is the sequence of multiple discoveries that allows the creation of light as we know it. Research has shown the benefits of light on behaviour. It is also used today in the fields of well-being and we know that it still has many surprises in store for us!

Anecdote: the light bulb that never went out. It's a light bulb that has a reputation for never having been turned off since 19 1. His mysterious longevity has even earned him a place in the record books and in numerous Articles in the American Media.

2/ Who created the lights - A bit of history?

The Light is a device that can control and disperse, filter or transform the Light.

According to the exhibition of the Museum of Bruges "Lumina Domestiqua", dedicated to the history of lighting, it is explained that the first lights come from America, Asia or Africa.

In the 1930s, inventions of industrial lamps or high-pressure discharge neon lights and xenon lamps made it possible to democratize the use of light.

In 195 , Jean Vilar, a Swiss theatre man, actor and writer, entrusted Pierre Saveron with the task of illuminating his show. This is how the position of Head of Lights was born.

In 1981, Chameleon created the first motorized projector.

It was not until the 1980s that the use of hanging lights, applies or walks into homes.

Lighting is only used in businesses, workshops or shops and theatres, but also in homes and apartments. It was at this time that he became a decorative object in its own right.
Created in 1965, the Pipistrello lamp designed by the Italian architect Gae Aulenti, has become unanimous and universal classic. Set on its feet, it diffuses light from all sides.

Today it's about illuminating more than places, for example LEDs can turn into a message: the neon designer Claude L Bishop says "Life is so pretty".
It is even diverted into artistic creations such as Ad Noctum, a dance show in which light sculpture becomes an unusual playing partner of artists.

The design of the lights takes hold of the light, summons our senses and when it is really successful even brings emotions.

3/ Light games: intensity, colour and location, dealing with light.

The light allows the atmosphere to be installed in a room. Whatever style you want to give your Interior, bringing it in if it is natural, clogging it or using artificial light can change the atmosphere.
In the kitchen, a light close to the natural will always be appreciated more, since it is a matter of illuminating the space. Whether it's large or narrow, there are many tricks to optimize the lighting. This is where dishes for young and old are prepared, this is the room where memories are simmered through flavors and lighting possibilities are multiple.

Let's take the example of the Remains architect Pino Brescia, a small building with solar architecture and a flooded with whiteness. In its summer kitchen perched on the top floor of the villa, simple niches and a bamboo roof are enough to create shade and the sun takes care of the light.
In the living room, space of relaxation and conviviality the goal is to create the atmosphere that resembles you. With recessed lighting on the ceiling, you can add modern touches of light to the reading spaces. In a niche, this lighting also gives you the opportunity to highlight a work of art or an object.

The arched lamp is ideal for directing the light. Its colour or silver shade to soften its intensity and its removable foot will allow you to orient the lighting as you see fit.

In the rooms, both light and colour will contribute to the intimacy of the place: a Lighting discreet in this space with a Lbedside amp or desk lamp, an applicator to the cloud-shaped wall or moon for dreamers, will allow you to light up without dazzling. The light has become a decorative element of the room, there are LED panels to spread personalized and colorful messages.
Another design and economical solution: the canopy. Ideal for protecting yourself from smells and noises, it allows you to create a separation without losing space, while letting in the light.

Outdoors on a balcony, terrace or in a garden, light contributes to the décor and will make your space an exclusive place.
The light intensity is managed by opening windows or a veranda for example but also thanks to variations in luminance.
Like its intensity, the color of light has become an essential element in creating your atmosphere. Today, ranges of shades are available:

- The blue color as a reminder of nature and infinity since it evokes the sea and the sky. It symbolizes peace and well-being. The blue will soften the curves and highlight what you want to show.

- White, representation of positive values such as purity, balance or innocence will, for example, encourage calm, peace and serenity if it is bright and velvety. More frank, it will give a feeling of freshness.

- The shimmering shades: red, yellow or orange will spice up the decoration and create a warm environment.

In any case, the color light can be thought of as a link with the space it illuminates. The combination of a wall of color and good light is enough to transform the atmosphere of a room.

As you continue your navigation, you will find a wide range of lights on our website in order to compose your own lighting game according to your tastes.

4/ Our bright ideas

LED as a decorative object :

Since their appearance in the 1920s, the raw light of LEDs has intrigued and fascinated designers, eager to tame it. Initially, the light is less easily tamed than that of filament bulbs. Until now often dismissed for the coldness of its lighting, designers like Jasper Morrison have fun and create detours to make it softer.

LED is economical due to low consumption. It dominates the market for Light fixtures.

How to decorate and illuminate your garden ?

Combine sound with light, prolong the decoration of inside To outside, make your garden a privileged place that reflects the spirit of your House, an exclusive place of sharing, a place of celebration...

There is no shortage of outdoor lighting solutions: bright objects of all kinds, pots and bright vases, Led lamps with built-in bluetooth speaker speakers, all you have to do is compose.

Valuing an art object, a canvas, a sculpture...

In an interior, when you have an object that is dear to you, the first desire will always be to highlight it.

A sculpture or ceramic can be placed in a niche, valuable objects or trinkets will be placed in a display case and a canvas by a painter, beautiful photographs or framed cinema posters will be hanging from the wall.

The idea here is to add the touch of light that will allow you to sublimate this object. All you need to do is add bright neon lights behind a canvas or frame. Thus, it will be discreetly highlighted by this visual effect. In the niche, wall spots or integrated above the object will highlight it. They will emphasize its curves and sublimate the material or materials that compose it. In a display case, a simple LED ribbon attached to the shelves will be enough to sublimate what it contains. The advantage of light ribbons is to be able to place them according to your desire, and put before certain pieces of a collection, or even to choose the color of the lighting.

Delineate a space with lighting

In a loft, it is possible to delineate the spaces thanks to floor-to-ceiling systems that will give an architectural side to your lighting. It is really about creating grooves in the ground, or on the walls, to which we incorporate bright neon lights. You will be able to delineate the traffic spaces: a bright corridor on the ground or a continuous line along a staircase to guide your visitors.

Connected Lighting What is it?

Connected lighting is a set of indoor fixtures that can be managed with a smartphone app.

How does it work? All you need to do is equip your interior with connected lights and connect them, thanks to the network and your smartphone. This allows you to change the lighting of one room from another, or to change the color and intensity with a simple click. Some manufacturers even offer pre-programmed environments, allowing it to be adapted to the present moment.

5/ Different styles

In the industrial style, raw or painted bricks, in association with light suspensions, will add charm and a contemporary touch to your décor. The garlands of old suspended bulbs combined with raw materials such as wood, stainless steel or steel will create a loft or workshop atmosphere.

For an oriental and contemporary interior, why not take inspiration, for example, from the Gold Souk in Beverwijk, the largest in Europe. The light softens the steep lines of this architecture, thanks to simple light slots built into the façade of the building. Inside, the designers created a ceiling giving the feeling of being under a starry sky. Thanks to bright spots countering the black color of the ceiling, the space has been transformed into a setting for a thousand and one nights.

For a bohemian and chic spirit, simple touches of warm colors such as orange, yellow or bright pink, printed textiles, candles, combined with light lamps will be enough to create the atmosphere. This style of decoration reached its peak in the 7's and is back in full force today with upcycling. The aim is to divert salvage objects to make furniture and decorative objects such as the use of pallets transformed into coffee tables.

For a minimalist atmosphere, clean lines, sobriety, soft colours and no-frills materials are in the spotlight. The materials chosen are wood, stainless steel, and brushed steel while being discreet and functional.

The simplicity of the materials does not detract from the proper use of the fixtures. Comfort comes first.

For a Scandinavian style, simplicity, materials reminiscent of nature and colors are highlighted. Soft tones such as white and light grey are favoured and warmer tones such as yellow, honey, orange and taupe are favoured. Mixing simple, graphic, and soft colours and shapes with good lighting brings the touch of originality to the Nordic style. A cocooning spirit ensured thanks to the faux fur sofa throwers and a pretty standing candlestick.

6/ Different materials

If you opt for the Scandinavian style, the stainless steel, iron or wood salvage items found in the flea markets will add charm to your Design. The use of raw materials: bricks, rubble, cinder hangers in combination with industrial hanging lamps, sockets and vintage bulbs, will transform your interior into a loft. The use of laminated glass suspensions softens the lighting and makes it more diffuse.

For a Japanese style, and a Zen spirit, natural materials such as bamboo, light woods, white gravel and paper can be used. In order to dim the light, the lampshades take different forms Origami round suspensions or geometric... They will be paired with screens, vases, Ikebana bouquets and pebble-shaped light fixtures. Don't hesitate to use opaque bulbs.

Are you romantic? You like pastel tones, English style... You'll be able to customize your home with Chandeliers and offal days combining delicate textiles such as tulle and lamps with light sources. Do not hesitate to put on your furniture scented candles, bouquets of dried flowers, use crystal candlesticks, photophores...

Opt for the softness of the materials.

7/ In the end

On a day-to-day basis, Light fixtures are everywhere. They are an integral part of your decoration and public space. Another area in which they have played an essential role for a long time: that of entertainment.

Before they appeared, the light of candles illuminated the first plays. Since the creation of the light spots, the lights have continued to evolve and technical improvements have made it possible to illuminate and sublimate many musical shows, dances or plays. But the most amazing thing is to see the place they occupy today! Lights are an integral part of these shows. The light sculptures dance among the troops of professionals, the neon lights of LEDs turn into wheels of light or a 3D cube,.. mixing graphics and poetic scenography.
